| Manager / Secretary The following Manager / Secretary scenario could be adapted to many other
different "pairs" in the workplace.
Brief
The manager wanted a series of "do this" keys to her secretary and also
wanted some way she could be interrupted if she was stuck in a meeting she wanted to
terminate without it appearing that she wanted to terminate the meeting.
Solution
Feature keys on both 20-key keysets were programmed with a series of virtual
numbers and virtual ringing was turned on at the secretary's keyset to give audible warning
of the call. The manager had virtual ringing turned on on only one virtual number.
Operation
The keys were labelled as "Coffee", "Intrude", "Call"
etc.
If the manager was in a meeting and wanted refreshments for
her guests she would press the "Coffee" key. The secretary receives the call,
answers it and immediately hangs-up, entering the managers office a few seconds later to
take the refreshments order for the guests.
The "Intrude" key was used in a similar way except
the secretary would intrude on the meeting with an excuse for immediately terminating the
meeting so the manager could be free of her no-longer-wanted guest. The "Call"
key was used in a similar way with the secretary calling-back the manager (on the
"Call" virtual number) after a pre defined time interval (allowing the manager
to terminate the meeting because of the "urgent" call she had just received).
