A one-person business

Brief
The Hytel was installed in a small motel on a golf course in the country. The motel was essentially run as a one-person business with the manager looking after the office, checking-in guests and doing minor maintenance and gardening. He was concerned about missing telephone bookings while he was out of the office.

Solution
This was solved easily by storing a couple of abbreviated numbers and by installing a couple of feature keys on the main office telephone.

Two system abbreviated numbers were set up as follows:

*21 (manager's mobile number) #
#21#

In both cases, the port number of the system directory number is specified as part of the abbreviated number programming, thus forcing the abbreviated number to be always outdialled only on the customer's directory number.

Store these abbreviated numbers under two feature keys (or use the upper and lower levels of the same feature key). Simply press the feature keys to initiate and delete the call forward. If the directory number is call-forwarded, the rotary-group is disabled at the exchange

Procedure
When the manager left the office he simply pressed the "set" feature key to direct incoming calls to his mobile. When he returned to the office, he simply pressed the "release" feature key to direct incoming calls to the office extension.
