Authority Code

An authority code consists of an extension number and associated user password. When an authority code is entered, the associated extension class of service is activated at the extension for 1 minute. In addition to the COS, the line access assignment and forced account code settings are also transferred.

This allows the user to place an outgoing exchange call from an extension that would normally be restricted from placing such a call.

Benefits A user can go to any extension within the system and make an outgoing exchange call with the same access privileges as if they were at their own extension.
