External Loud Bell Two screw terminals are provided at the top right-hand corner of the
Extension PCB for connection of an external loud bell to the system (designated with a
picture of a bell). A dry relay contact closes synchronously with incoming exchange line
ring on all exchange lines in trunk routes programmed to operate the loud-bell relay.
Type-A tone ringers, Type-C tone ringers and "standard" front-door chimes are
the usual devices connected to the contacts.
| Benefits |
Connecting a loud-bell device to the loud-bell terminals
provides an audible signal throughout the workplace for an incoming exchange call. The
Call-pickup Loud-bell feature can be used to answer the call from any keyset. This is
useful in a workplace such as a warehouse or distribution centre where staff do not
spend long periods at a desk but need positive indication of incoming calls so that they
may be promptly answered. Connecting a
"standard" door-bell to the loud-bell contacts and programming just the
door-station trunk route to operate the contacts provides the familiar
"ding-dong" chime when the door station is activated. The door station port can
also be programmed to ring nominated keystations in addition to the door-alarm. |
