| External Paging A 3.5mm mono phono jack (the bottom jack of the pair) is provided on the
Extension PCB for connection of an external paging amplifier to the system. The output
specifications of the system jack are:
| impedance |
600 ohms |
| output level |
0db |
| output signal level |
0.707V RMS |
The external amplifier input specifications must match the
values in the table above.
The Loud-bell/EPP ringing data fields in RMP programming can
be used to send an incoming exchange call ring signal (on defined Trunk Routes) to the
external PA amplifier input so that there is an audible sound whenever an incoming call
rings-in on a line in the specified trunk route.
Background music can be connected to the PA amp, with an
inbuilt VOX switch disconnecting the background music whilst a page is in progress.
Also refer to keyset
system paging.
| Benefits |
Useful in a noisy or physically large work environment
(factory, outside work-area etc) for quickly contacting staff. The page can be initiated
from any keyset on the system and it does not require the use of a fixed microphone
at a single location (as is typical in a "stand-alone" P.A. system). The EPP Ringing feature can be used to notify staff that there is an incoming
exchange call that needs answering. |
