Group Listen

If this feature has been enabled in system programming, it allows a handset conversation to be broadcast on the keystation speaker so that others can listen to the call. The handsfree microphone is disabled. The user simply presses the speaker key to activate the speaker. The handset can be placed in the cradle at any time, converting the call to hands-free operation. To terminate a group listen call, press the clear key.

Before placing the handset in the cradle to convert to a full handsfree call, it is suggested that the handset transmitter is muted (function 76) to prevent acoustic feedback as the handset is being replaced.

Benefits Allows a group of people to listen to a conversation. They hear their co-worker "live" and listen to the other party via the keyset's speaker. The person who is participating on the call uses their handset. Depending on the room acoustics and the level of the received speech from the keyset's speaker (adjustable with the two volume keys on the keyset), the distant party need not know their call is being heard by more than a single person.
