This feature allows any user to place an intercom call over
the speakerphone of a busy 20-button display telephone provided that the 20-button user is
active on their handset and not on their speakerphone. The two calls are independent of
each other and occur at the same time.
The OHVA call-connection is delayed to give the recipient time to
reject the call. The called extension receives both visual and aural indication of the
OHVA attempt. They can reject the OHVA call at any time or hang-up the handset to
terminate the handset call and remain connected to the OHVA caller.
Pressing the mute key
mutes the handset transmitter only, allowing private dialogue with the OHVA caller.
Note that on a 96/120-series system, because the OHVA call uses the
B2 channel of the extension port, the 20-button extension must be connected to a DEI board
and not to a DDEI board.
