Power Fail Telephones

The loss of 240V power and no (or failed) backup battery, causes the power-fail relays on some exchange lines to release, diverting the line to power-fail Krone board connectors on the internal distribution board. Analogue telephones connected to the power-fail termination points enable external calls to be processed.

The first two exchange lines on an 824-series or Juni-series system appear on power-fail sockets/Krone connectors. The first two ports on each ATI board in a 96/120-series system appear on the cable tail wiring and can be wired to power-fail telephones.

Benefits The provision of analogue power-fail telephones allows the business to keep trading (by using the first two exchange lines (for incoming and outgoing calls) if there is a major power interruption of a major system fault.
