Redialling

The system supports four types of redial:

  • Auto Busy Redial (Function 78)
This automatically redials the last external number dialled from that extension, whether the number was manually dialled or called via an abbreviated number. It can redial up to 20 attempts at an interval specified in system programming. The user must ensure that "normal" busy-tone is received from the telephone exchange on their first attempt before trying to use this feature. The PSTN exchange must return "standard" busy-tone (instead of a voice-announcement) for this feature to be able to operate.
  • Last number redial (Function 8)
This automatically redials the last external number dialled from that extension, whether the number was manually dialled or called via an abbreviated number. It is the default choice of the redial key on the left-hand side of the dialpad.
  • Saved number redial (Function 51)
This feature allows a user to store the last number dialled from the extension (while they are still on the call) so that it can be redialled at a later time. The stored number remains saved until another number is saved in its place. Numbers that have been manually dialled or called via an abbreviated number can be stored.
  • User saved number redial (Function 5*)
This feature allows a user active on either an internal or external call to manually enter and store a telephone number (scratch-pad) for later redialling. The stored number remains saved until it is over-written.
Benefits Auto Busy Redial
Frees up the user to do other tasks while the system automatically redials the wanted busy number an defined number of times at a defined call-interval.

Last Number Redial
This is the redial option programmed to the "Redial" key by default. Its use saves time and prevents errors in redialling the last number dialled from that keyset.

Saved Number Redial
Provides a semi-permanent erasable redial store that is more "permanent" than LRN but a lot easier to change than an abbreviated number. A number stays in the store until it is overwritten. Saves time and mistakes in dialling a previously stored number.

User Saved Number Redial
Offers a paperless way of recording a telephone number with the added advantage of being able to easily dial that number. It is a semi-permanent erasable store that retains the number until it is overwritten.
