SMDR

Hytel KSUs have an RS232 port for connection of third-party SMDR recording devices to the system. A real-time call-record is produced for each CO call processed by the system. The call-records are sent to serial-port 2 (the bottom socket) on the CCB in ASCII format.

At default, call records are produced at the conclusion of the call. A call is logged only if the call-duration is longer than the time set by the Call Duration Start Time parameter. The Enable ICLID SMDR option is used to generate a call record whenever an incoming call containing ICLID information is answered by a voicemail port, the call-record now being generated when the call is answered by the voicemail port. This allows the ICLID information to be used by the voicemail for call-routing purposes.

A system buffer holds 200 records.

Benefits Provides a record of exchange calls handled by the system. Individual extensions can opt to have their outgoing call records no being recorded by SMDR.

The SMDR records can contain FAC information and this can be used to accurately bill clients (on a per call or elapsed time basis) or analyse staff's phone usage.

The output can be as simple as a one-line-per-record serial printer printout or the SMDR output can be fed to a computer program for complex analysis.
