Toll Restriction There is a large degree of freedom provided by the contents
of the Toll Barring tables, allowing the tables to be constructed to meet any requirements
a customer may have. At default, there is no toll restriction applied to outgoing exchange
calls from any extension. Different restrictions can apply for the Day-1 (and Day-2 and
Day-3) and Night service-modes. Toll restriction constraints can be applied to both
extensions and exchange lines.
Toll restriction is used in conjunction with the
extension's COS value to prevent an
extension from dialling (or for an exchange line to be used to dial) specified telephone
number-ranges while at the same time allowing them to dial those number-ranges for which
they have access. Access can be denied or granted for a specified number range or for just
a single telephone number.
It is essential that every extension can always
have access to Emergency Calls (000) during all system operating modes.
| Benefits |
Prevents nominated extensions from making
"unauthorised" calls. Useful for keysets in common areas such as foyers, waiting
rooms, lunchrooms etc by restricting their outgoing access to local calls only (preventing
STD, IDD, mobiles and Premium rate services from being called. By utilising Day/Night switching, "after hours" access can be
restricted to just a few number-ranges or to just some individual nominated telephone
numbers. |
