Least Cost Routing (LCR)

Hytel's LCR (Least Cost Routing) is a function that can modify dialled digits before sending them to the exchange.

This feature is primarily used as a tool to re-route Long Distance calls through the cheapest Carrier by dialling an over-ride prefix
at a particular time of day or day of the week, calls to specific locations, calls from specific lines or extensions. The system does
this by removing certain digits and inserting others when calls are made to specific numbers or prefixes.

LCR can also be used for many other purposes.

Example # 1
Calls from the Managing Director's extension could be programmed to add the Caller ID blocking prefix "1831" before each call.

Example # 2
A certain line on the system may be provided with "Easycall Call Waiting" and a particular person may find the call waiting tones
intrusive. That extension could be programmed to insert the call waiting over-ride prefix to ensure that he/she is not disturbed by
waiting calls when making outgoing calls from his/her extension.

Example # 3
A particular extension may be used for a fax machine. You may wish to ensure that all IDD calls are routed through your Carrier's
"data-grade" IDD lines by programming the system to remove "0011" and replace it with "0019" for Optus IDD data-lines or "0015"
for Telstra IDD data-lines.
