Hytel System Configurations

Hytel system features and advanced user functions apply across all systems in the range. The larger 96/120-port systems
simply have greater capacities than the smaller 824-series systems (e.g. 1,000 abbreviated numbers versus 500 etc). The same
keysets are used for all systems and minor system changes via system attendant programming applies to every Hytel system.

824-series systems

Hytel HYD-824 KSU Key Service Unit Hytel HYD-824-series systems were shipped in a 4/12 (4 exchange-line & 12 keyset) or 6/16 (6 exchange-line & 16-keyset) base configuration. Either configuration can be easily expanded with the 2/08 Expansion Board to add 2 exchange -lines and 8 extension ports, giving a maximum capacity of 6/20 and 8/24 respectively.

Thanks to Hytel's advanced modular design, 2 digital extension ports can be easily converted using an Analog Adaptor Unit (HYD-4AA) to support 4 standard analogue telephone extensions. The Key Service Unit (KSU) of Hytel HYD-824 is self contained with an internal Power Supply Unit and an internal Krone IDF for all line and extension connections. Music on Hold, Background Music and External Paging are supported by all Hytel systems without the need for any add-on boards. Connections to the Main Equipment from audio devices are made by simple phono plugs.

 96/120-port series systems

The Hytel HYD-96 is a 96-port system that is custom-configured using plug-in PCBs
to give a system with a maximum of 96 ports. The KSU has an inbuilt power supply,
processor board, common-services board and six slots that can accommodate a
combination of system PCBs.

The Hytel HYD-120 is a 120 port system that is custom-configured using plug-in PCBs
to give a system with a maximum of 120 ports. The KSU has a processor board,
common -services board and nine slots that can accommodate a combination of system
PCBs. There is an external power supply module.

Both these larger systems can be provided with any of the following boards to suite the
individual site's requirements:

8 x exchange line (Analogue trunk) board (ATI)   16 x Digital extension (Keyset) board (DDEI)
8 x digital extension (Keyset) board (DEI)   16 x analogue extension board (AE16)
8 x analogue extension with Message Waiting lamp
